Es geschieht schon wieder! Mittlerweile entsteht der Anschein, dass keine Woche ohne einen Einstieg eines Sportvereins in den eSport vergeht. Kurz vor dem Jahresende verkündet der griechische Sportverein Panathinaikos Athen, welcher im Jahr 1908 gegründet worden ist, sein Engagement im eSports. Der Athener Verein, der für seine erfolgreiche Fussball, Volleyball und Basketballmanschaft in ganz Europa bekannt ist wird auch in Zukunft auf diversen Gameservern anzutreffen sein.

Neue Möglichkeit für den Club

In Österreich kennt man Panathinaikos vor allem  für ihre leidenschaftlichen Fussballultras, Gate 13, welche eine enge Fanfreundschaft mit den Fans des SK Rapid Wien pflegen. Die Kleeblätter werden mit sofortiger Wirkung ihr Portfolio um League of Legends, Starcraft, Dota2, Counter-Strike, FIFA sowie NBA2K erweitern. Somit folgt der Athener Verein dem Vorbild FC Schalke 04, Besiktas Instanbul, Paris Saint Germain u.v.m.
